Senior Frontend Engineer
Acme Robotics · Berlin (hybrid) · €75,000 – €95,000
We're a 35-person robotics startup building autonomous warehouse pickers. Our hardware ships to 18 customers across Europe; the software that orchestrates the fleet runs in our customers' browsers and on the robots themselves.
What you'll do
- Own the operator console — the React app warehouse staff use to dispatch, monitor, and override our robots in real time.
- Ship features end-to-end: from PR sketch to production deploy, with our seven-person engineering team.
- Pair with our two robotics engineers to design the data contracts between robot and browser.
- Mentor a junior engineer joining in Q3.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building React applications, ideally with TypeScript.
- Comfortable with WebSocket-driven real-time UIs (we push state from the fleet to the browser ~20 times a second).
- Experience shipping to non-developer end users — warehouse operators are not tech enthusiasts, the UI has to be obvious.
- Strong opinions, loosely held. Our codebase has been growing for two years and could use a sharp eye.
Nice to have
- Robotics, IoT, or other real-time domain background.
- Open-source contributions we can read.
- German language skills (not required — the team works in English).
What we offer
- 30 days paid leave + 8 public holidays.
- Berlin office in Friedrichshain, with a hybrid policy: 2 days in office, 3 from home.
- €1,200/year learning budget, no questions asked.
- Visa sponsorship if you're outside the EU.
We commit to a 4-stage interview process, completed in under 14 days, and we will tell you the salary band before the first call.
