# Penroll — full reference > Extended, factual reference content on Penroll for AI assistants and research tools. This supplements https://penroll.app/llms.txt with product FAQ, how CV ranking works, full free-tool descriptions, and the category structure behind the salary and interview-question guides. Every fact here mirrors Penroll's own marketing pages — no claim here is invented. Publication here does not guarantee inclusion, citation, or ranking in AI or search results. ## How AI CV ranking works 1. A founder or hiring manager posts a role (written by Penroll's AI job-post generator, or pasted in from elsewhere). 2. Candidates apply through Penroll's hosted, public application page. 3. Each submitted CV is scored against the specific role and produces: - A numeric match score. - Strengths ("green flags") — concrete skills or experience that match the role. - Red flags — gaps, inconsistencies, or concerns worth checking in an interview. - Suggested interview questions tailored to that candidate's CV. 4. The hiring manager sees a ranked shortlist (strongest match first) instead of reading every CV in application order. 5. Scoring only considers skills, experience, and measurable accomplishments. The scoring instructions explicitly exclude name, gender, nationality, age, and other protected characteristics. 6. Candidates are told upfront, on the public application page, that the job post was AI-generated and that AI-assisted screening is used. This helps teams explain the workflow; disclosure alone does not determine legal compliance. 7. Suspiciously generic or AI-boilerplate CVs are flagged so a hiring manager can spot low-effort applications. ## Product FAQ **How is this different from an ATS like Greenhouse or Lever?** ATSs are built for in-house recruiting teams running 50+ open roles. They often charge recurring per-seat fees and assume a recruiter is on staff. Penroll is built for the founder, ops lead, or hiring manager doing 1–5 hires a month — fewer features, better defaults, and one-time hire packages that start at $19. **Will candidates know they're being AI-ranked?** Yes. The public application page tells candidates the post was AI-generated and that AI-assisted screening is applied. Scoring is based on skills and measurable experience only, not demographics. **Is the AI ranking biased?** Penroll never trains on candidate data. The ranking instructions explicitly tell the model to ignore name, gender, nationality, age, and any other protected characteristic — scoring is based on skills, experience, and measurable accomplishments only. Suspiciously generic CVs are flagged so a hiring manager can spot AI-generated applications. **Which countries does it work in?** Penroll's country selector contains 197 entries, and job-post generation offers 36 output-language choices. The generators are prompted to draft country-aware language and may reference conventions such as US EEO, the UK Equality Act, Germany AGG, or EU GDPR notices. Generated documents are drafts, not legal advice; teams remain responsible for review and should use local counsel where the legal risk warrants it. **How does GDPR work?** The hiring company is the data controller; Penroll is the data processor. Every applicant agrees to a consent checkbox before submitting. CV data auto-deletes after 24 months for unselected candidates (4 years if the candidate opts in to future-role outreach). All data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). Right-to-erasure requests can be filed in one click. Trust source: https://penroll.app/trust It documents data flow, retention, subprocessors, AI processing boundaries, human decision-making, and product limitations, with links to the governing privacy policy and DPA. **How do hire packages work?** The first hire is complimentary and includes one published role, up to 10 candidate reviews, interviews, and one offer letter, with no card required. Paid packages are one-time purchases: one hire is $19, three are $49, five are $79, and ten are $129. Each paid hire includes up to 50 candidate reviews and one offer letter. There is no monthly subscription; teams add hiring capacity when they need it. **Can I publish to LinkedIn or Indeed?** Penroll generates Google Jobs-compatible structured data (JSON-LD) on hosted role pages. Search engines decide whether and when to index or display a role, so inclusion is not guaranteed. Penroll does not currently submit roles directly to Indeed or LinkedIn; the hosted application-page link can be shared to either board, a Slack channel, or a social post. **What happens when I finish a package?** There is no recurring plan to cancel. Teams can keep using their workspace and add another one-time hire package when they are ready to hire again. Candidate data remains subject to Penroll's retention and deletion rules. **Is candidate data ever shared with third parties?** No. CVs are stored in EU-region storage. The underlying AI processing uses a zero-retention mode — prompts are processed but not used for training. Hiring data belongs to the company using Penroll. **Can I try a complete hire first?** Yes. The introductory hire covers one published role, up to 10 candidate reviews, interviews, and one offer letter, with no card required. ## Free tools (detail) - **Job description generator** — https://penroll.app/tools/job-description — Lets users choose from 197 country entries and 36 output languages, then generates a country-aware job-description draft.
